Our task
Another project that underscores our expertise in exposed concrete finishes is the renovation of the SB4 self-supporting exposed concrete staircase in the new building of the Cooperative State University of Stuttgart. On behalf of the renowned general contractors Züblin and Strabag, we helped ensure that this architecturally sophisticated staircase shines in brilliant white.

Exposed concrete finishes for the impressive SB4 staircase at the Cooperative State University of Stuttgart

Challenges and solutions:

High-Exposure Concrete Class: SB4 concrete places the highest demands on surface quality. Even the smallest bumps or color variations are visible. Our meticulous concrete finishing has eliminated these imperfections and given the stairs a uniform appearance.
Cable construction: Cable construction requires special care during installation to ensure that the structural integrity of the staircase is not compromised. Our experienced specialists carried out the work with the utmost precision.
White concrete: White concrete is particularly susceptible to staining. We made sure that the staircase gleamed with a pure white finish after treatment and is now protected against future staining.

Revealing cosmetic results
The SB4 self-supporting exposed concrete staircase is now a striking feature of the new dual-university building. It is impressive for its flawless finish and blends harmoniously with the building’s modern architecture.
