Challenge

For the architectural design of the noise protection façade of the Regensburgerviertel Nuremberg parking lot, the architects from BEHLES & JOCHIMSEN chose the “trompe l'oeil” technique to apply concrete glazing as a visual effect. The colored concrete glazing thus gives the two-dimensional concrete facade a three-dimensional visual effect.

The challenge in this project was to artistically glaze the surfaces of the prefabricated concrete parts with such precision that a homogeneous yet vibrant spatial image was created. For this purpose, KEIM Concretal concrete paint was chosen, which gives the glazed concrete an expressive and vibrant color thanks to purely metallic color pigments.
