As part of the concrete renovation, we carry out a detailed report of the damage and determine the causes. Concrete renovation Kneipp facility
The pools in the Schönmünzbach park that were to be reworked had already been sandblasted and cosmetically reworked when commissioned, but not to the client’s satisfaction.
Sandblasting opened the capillary pores of the previously dense concrete surfaces, promoting water ingress and the degradation of concrete alkalinity and the natural rust protection of the reinforcement. Beconart therefore had to take measures to close the capillary pores again.
Numerous edge chips, concrete spalling on the interior walls, height differences in the pool walls and air pockets had to be repaired. All exposed concrete surfaces were revised with regard to evenness, damaged areas, surface texture and color homogeneity.
Two outdoor Kneipp pools were integrated into the newly designed outdoor area of ​​the Schönmünzbach spa park. However, these in-situ concrete water basins had various defects. Beconart was commissioned to create a renovation and maintenance concept for the in-situ concrete. This included reworking closed areas of damage, taking into account the surface quality and color, removing partial contamination and remaining mortar and cement residues.
In addition, partial damage was repaired and breakouts and defects caused by gravel nests were closed. To ensure a homogeneous exposed concrete surface, cementitious fine filler was used, followed by the application of a surface protection system.
